Biography

Peregrina (Wheelock) Warfield immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Peregrina Wheelock was the daughter of Ralph Wheelock and Rebecca Clarke.^[1] No record of Peregrina's birth has been found. According to family tradition, Rebecca Clarke Wheelock gave birth to a child at sea while in transit to Massachusetts. ^[2] The name Peregrina suggests travel, so many have proposed that she was born at sea, which would put her birth date around 1637. Although at least one secondary source state she was born 1644 in Medfield, Massachusetts, no primary source information is given.^[1]

Peregrina married Deacon John Warfield as his second wife on 26 October 1669 in Medfield.^[3] As Peregrina would have been in her sixties at the time of the marriage, John and Peregrina did not have any children.^{[4] [5]}

Peregrina died 1 April 1671 in Medfield.^[6]
